Recently I spent a weekend getting naked in hotel rooms and it was better than I ever thought it would be.

Before you get the wrong idea, I had a bunch of photoshoots lined up and I got to play model for a day since they all happened to fall on the same weekend. It was hectic to shuttle around town to various hotels and secret locations but it was so worth it in the end. All I can say is thank goodness for all of the wonderful hair, makeup and wardrobe people who thought of everything and made it so easy to just show up, the real hero’s though are the ladies behind the camera who made me feel at ease and the most comfortable I’ve felt in my own skin in a very long time.

You know all of those things that you’ve always wanted to do but you don’t do them because you are making all of the excuses for why you shouldn’t. You’re too old, you’re too fat, you need to lose 10 more pounds, you’re too shy, you’re too self-conscious, it’s too cold, it’s too rainy, it’s too far, it’s too expensive- you know ALL of the excuses.

Well I’ve been telling myself for years that I’d do a boudoir photoshoot as soon as I lost a little more weight, and got my flat stomach back, and evened out my tan etc. all kinds stall tactics were used. I even told myself I’m too old now and I should have done it back when I was young and thin.

All of the self doubt that we pile on ourselves can definitely take a toll and results in us starting to believe that we aren’t worthy.

We don’t need men or other people judging us and the impossible to live up to beauty standards of today- we beat ourselves down enough without the outside help and it’s time to stop.

I know I’m never going to be happy with my body, there’s always going to be something that needs to be tightened, toned, nipped or tucked but I can work harder at accepting it and not hating it daily.

I’m not saying give up and stop improving yourself but I am saying stop being so hard on yourself. We all have shit going on, we all have moments when life kicks out ass but there is enough outside pressure to be impossibly perfect so accept who you are and all of your flaws, you are amazing the way you are at this moment.

So there’s your pep talk, stop holding yourself back, make a list of all the things you want to do and start checking some of those things off the list and if one of those things is to do a boudoir photoshoot I highly recommend Miss Cherrybomb of Cherrybomb Photography, Cherie is so positive and encouraging and will make you feel amazing, plus produce some images that you’ll love and be proud of.

Here’s one of my favorites 🙃
